PAWS INN -PROFESSIONAL GROOMING AND BATHING

Phone 374-3544 to treat your pet to a luxurious bath. We have walk-in tubs and our special hydrosurge cleansing baths remove dirt, debris and that doggie pet odor – your pet will feel fresh and revitalized. After bathing, our experienced groomers Mark and Lori will give your cat or dog an expert grooming. Our groomers always check and clean the ears, trim the nails, and will even brush your pet's teeth at your request. Special seasonal bows and bandanas are a favorite of our Paws Inn customers.

RABBITS, FERRETS,REPTILES, BIRDS & SMALL MAMMALS

Veterinary medicine for exotic pets is growing as the popularity of these animals increase. With better public education in health, nutritional and environmental management, all species have a greater chance for living longer and healthier lives. We employ staff veterinarians who possess experience in the care and treatments of exotics.

PAWS INN BOARDING: DOGS, CATS, & EXOTICS

Pets are like our children – we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. Our highly qualified kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. We provide tender loving care (such as brushing and cuddling), and supervised outdoor playtime to keep them happy and active. We have separate boarding facilities for dogs and cats. Our indoor/outdoor kennels are air conditioned in the summer and our floors have warm water coils within them to keep your pet toasty in the winter. Each pet has their own individual report card on which their appetite and eliminations are recorded twice daily. We feed Eukanuba dry food, but will also feed special diets if you bring them from home. For our feline friends we have special cat condos available on request. Our boarding friends enjoy playtime on the cat tree and watching the fish in our tank! For our frequent boarders we offer a STAY 10 NIGHTS and GET THE NEXT NIGHT FREE punch card. With each stay we punch the number of nights boarded. Once you reach 10 nights you get the next one free. Phone 374-3544

Is your pet unhappy or lonely while you're at work? Give your companion the personal attention he or she deserves throughout the day. We offer the same TLC and playtime offered to our longer-term guests. Phone 374-3544

DENTAL CARE

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. Each patient goes home with a free dental product to help maintain a clean and healthy mouth.

FULLY STOCKED PHARMACY

We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs in the animal healthcare field. If we do not carry a medication that is needed for your patient we will either write a prescription or special order it from a supplier. Many medications can be compounded into liquids with flavorings ( beef, liver, tuna) or made into transdermal gels to be applied to the skin. Our goal is to make sure your pet is able to take its medication safely and easily. We stock Interceptor, Sentinel, Frontline, Advantage and Revolution for your pet's parasite protection needs.

HOSPICE/EUTHANASIA SERVICES

Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. We have a special comfort room with a couch and chair so that family members can be together with their pet. Services include cremation or private cremation with ashes returned to the owner with a special clay paw print of their friend.

IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE

We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter surgeries; and specialized blood tests for all life stages.

INTERNAL MEDICINE

We cover all areas of internal medicine, including: Cardiology; Ophthalmology; Neurology; Dermatology; Gastroenterology; Orthopedic surgery; Oncology; Endocrinology; among others. Our in-house blood analyzers help us get quick answers for our critically ill patients. For more specialized blood tests we send samples out to several highly reputable veterinary laboratories including: Antech labs, Michigan State University, Minnesota Veterinary Hospital, and Idexx labs. We are able to assess blood pressure and cardiac health with our ECG and doppler blood pressure devices. Screening for glaucoma is made easier with our tonopen to measure eye pressures.

PERMANENT IDENTIFICATION: TATTOO AND MICROCHIPPING

Permanent identification can help recover your pet if it's lost and act as a life-time dog license. We can place a tattoo number on the inside of the thigh while your dog is under anesthesia. Most people choose to do this while their pet is in for spay-neuter surgery. The tattoo number is gotten from your county court house and must be brought to the hospital on the day of the procedure.

Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the most widely used microchip product, HomeAgain, to increase the chances of a safe recovery. This microchip can be implanted in cats and dogs. It does not require sedation because it's quick and relatively painless! Your pet can be tracked back to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING

Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active. We carry Hills, Eukanuba, Waltham, Purina, and IVD prescription diets. Paws Inn stocks Eukanuba, Evolve, and Innova diets.

We have a special program for patients who are on prescription diets called "MY FOOD BOWL IS NEVER EMPTY". We will automatically order your food on the set times you give us. It may be once a week or once a month. We guarantee your food will be available, unless it is on back order from the manufacturer. All we need from you is a completed order form and a credit card number. We will bill your account when the food arrives at the hospital. PAIN MANAGEMENT

Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. That is why we administer pain medication to all surgery patients and have medications to send home after the procedure. We tailor our pain management to each patient and use a variety of methods from injections, oral medications, nerve blocks, and transdermal pain patches.

RADIOLOGY

Our digital radiology ( X-ray) system helps our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. The images can be quickly evaluated by our doctors via our computer system. If needed, we can send your pet's radiographs to specialists via the internet. If you move, we can make a copy of your pet's images onto a CD for your new veterinarian.

SURGERY

We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: board certified surgeon available for consultation; fully trained veterinary and technical staff, to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; heated surgery tables for greater comfort; advanced sterilization techniques; ECG, blood pressure and oxygen saturation monitors; intensive after surgery care and full blood testing. We have a surgical technician with your pet from induction to recovery for hands on monitoring and assessment of the patient. We participate with PaPETS and SPCA in their spay and neuter programs.

ULTRASOUND

Our new Mylab color doppler ultrasound machine uses non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology. Sound waves are used to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available.
